The exhibition contains paintings, documentary footage, pictures, sketches and plans of past, present and future projects developed by Haas&Hahn.

A Tribute to Japanese Art and Fashion

We have a special appreciation for Japanese Art and Fashion both for their extreme level of creativity and our connection to PechaKucha – Japanese for The Sound of Conversation (a non-profit organization founded and Headquartered in Tokyo). There have been a series of Asia After Dark events at The Freer and Sackler Galleries; however, this was a special tribute to Japan and was quite an unexpected experience.

The ita Residences – Villa Style Condos

The first of The ita Residences is under construction in the mountains at Lavasan, Iran (a picturesque 20 minute drive up North East of Tehran). I Am Sad Leyla Exhibition by Hussein Chalayan

An incredible multilayered piece from Hussein Chalayan – visionary fashion designer/artist – that combines some of our favorite things: film, music, fashion and sculpture. Hussein takes the Classical Turkish song Uzgunum Leyla, or I Am Sad Leyla originally composed in 1940 for the love story of Leyla and Majnun.

Bachelor’s Suite by ita

A three bedroom apartment transformed into a sexy bachelor pad for NY developers in 007-esque style. This private suite was designed for the developers stays in DC and is hidden so well in one of their own apartment buildings, you would never expect to open the door to find such a lavish high-tech pad.  Upon entry into the suite, the foyer clad in metallic porcelain tile and cold rolled steel frame a linear fireplace. The lighting is dim and the suite floors are a rich walnut flanked by dark wenge built-in cabinetry to evoke a modern zen cigar lounge.

Cramming a lot into a one week trip to Italy, we started in Bologna for work (and of course the best Italian food!)….then off to Venice and Florence to explore. We arrived in Venice by ferry at night and it felt like we walked onto the set of a movie.

We came across Ingrid Goldbloom Bloch of Massachusetts, a self-taught artist, who finds her inspiration in the hardware store for her mixed-media sculptures. She transforms everyday items like nuts, washers, plumbing tubing and coke cans into jewelry, vessels, teapots and lingerie.
